What led you to a career in recruiting?

Needing a job, I’d just wrapped up my degree at the University of San Diego. Juggling coaching gigs for two youth baseball teams to pay the bills, I was casting a wide net for any job in San Diego, including applying for an HIM recruiter position at On Assignment. Nate and Brian were running the division at that point. Honestly, I had no clue what HIM was and had to Google it before the interview. I must’ve impressed them because I landed the job.

What do you enjoy most about working at OnPoint?

Working with the best people I know. The team we have here is amazing and I really enjoy every one of them.

What does a “day in the life” look like for you in your role?

My schedule fluctuates depending on the needs of our staff. Some days, I find myself glued to the phone, conducting interviews, reviewing resumes, and sourcing candidates. Other days, I’m focused on assisting our team with inquiries or guiding new consultants through the onboarding process. Each day brings its own set of tasks and challenges, keeping things interesting and dynamic.

What do you love most about being a recruiter?

I’m all about fostering strong, lasting connections with my consultants. At the end of the day, they’re not just names on a list. They’re real people with lives, families, and dreams just like anyone else. I genuinely care about each of them and want to do everything I can to help them land a job they truly love. It’s not just business, it’s about making a positive impact on their lives.

Share one of your favorite experiences or memorable moments from your six years at OnPoint.

The first couple of years working out of Nana’s house. That’s an experience that can’t be replicated.

How do you go about forming professional relationships?

I’m all about getting to know our consultants on a personal level. Understanding what motivates them, what fuels their enthusiasm for work, those are the things that matter. Putting their needs first is essential, and I want them to know that I’m here to offer guidance and support every step of the way.

As someone with a lot of recruiting experience, what qualities should one look for in a recruiter?

Honesty and transparency.

What energizes you at work?

A 3-5 minute plunge in 45 degree water. There isn’t anything better than that.

If you haven’t tried it, you should.

What topic could you give an hour-long presentation on with little to no preparation?

Baseball…I’ve played since I was 5 years old and made it to the professional level. My dream was to play in the major leagues but I decided that a HIM recruiter was a better fit.

What’s a fun fact about you that would surprise people?
I have a tattoo on the inside of my lip.

Item you’ve recently checked off your bucket list?

Buying a bass boat.

What’s your favorite weekend activity?

Going on adventures with my wife and 3 boys.

Song you currently have on repeat?

I have so many but here are a few I listen to everyday

Soul to Squeeze – Red Hot Chili Peppers

White Horse- Chris Stapleton

Your House- Steel Pulse

Is It Any Wonder? – Durand Jones and the Indications

Tell us about your family! Any kids or pets?
I could write a whole book about my amazing wife, Taylor, and our three boys: Levi (4), Bo (3), and Ollie (1). In our house, outnumbered is an understatement, and we take our fair share of beatdowns. But honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Our boys are well-behaved, and that’s all thanks to Taylor, she’s truly the MVP of our family.
