Tell us about what drew you to working at OnPoint, and how long you’ve been in your role:

I have known or worked with OnPoint’s founders over the last 14 years. Over the years, I’ve had many opportunities to really learn and get to know not only how they operate and approach business decisions, but also how their work and personal values truly align with mine. When the time was right, and the opportunity to join a great organization that’s led by Brian and Nate, it was an easy decision.

What’s your favorite part about being an OnPoint team member?

This is a tough question as my favorite part is working with our internal team, along with our consultants and clients, to provide guidance and opportunities for everyone to succeed. Sometimes this requires extra effort or going above and beyond on everyone’s part involved and I truly feel lucky to work for such a special organization that agrees with this philosophy.

What’s the most unexpected skill or experience you’ve used in your current role?

I think being able to share my experiences, both professionally and personally, has been surprisingly memorable for me. At some point, most of us feel like we are going through certain experiences alone or feel confused about situations in our lives. In these scenarios, it really feels good to listen and potentially share similar experiences or recommendations that worked for myself or others that might be helpful. I’ve learned it’s not always about having the right answers either, sometimes it’s just being able to listen and understand what someone else might be experiencing that has the most impact.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?

It is extremely rewarding to play an integral role in setting our consultants up for success. I think most people think that this only impacts them professionally, but I learned very quickly in my career just how much of an impact it makes on their overall quality of life as well.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned while in your role at OnPoint?

While one specific lesson doesn’t come to mind, working at OnPoint gives me the chance to learn something almost every day. I think one of the keys to anyone’s success is to come to work with the approach that every day is another opportunity to learn and grow both professionally and personally. Not to mention the benefits of also being able to store some information as useless knowledge so I can excel at trivia and board games!

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?

After a serious internal struggle, I think the place would be Exuma, Bahamas. I have vacationed here several times and while it’s only a short flight from Florida, when you get there, it can feel a million miles away from everything.

What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?

My favorite weekend is typically spending Saturday by the water (either at the beach or even poolside in the backyard) and then Sunday relaxing at home with family and watching football.

What’s the weirdest or most unique job you’ve ever had?

While attending college, I worked in the roofing and framing industry building houses. While it may not be the most unique job, it was probably one of the most humbling experiences that also gave me a new found appreciation for the invention of the air conditioner.

What books are laying on your nightstand table?

I am a big fan of Lee Child and have read most of his books.

Best trip you’ve been on?

I’ve been very fortunate to travel over the years and if I had to pick just one trip, it would probably be to the Maldives. We stayed on a private island owned by Marriott with our own individual bungalow with our own beach, while swimming with turtles and sharks every day. It was also an added bonus to travel first class there and back (using airline miles of course!) which included a personal suite with a bed, 3 course meals, airline pajamas, and much more!
